Fractions and sharing...

We've been spending a lot of time talking about how to share objects or numbers evenly by skip counting (instead of counting one by one).
Dividing lego lights by 5, sharing items into fifths. The children shared 20, 25 and 30 lego lights by skip counting in 2's or more.

Sharing in quarters.

Dividing an 8 part lego brick in 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8

Checking out how they look when they're put back together.

    Thank you Hollie. We learned more about fractions and how to share objects evenly by grouping them instead of saying, "One for you, one for me."
